Helplines: Bullying

(Read timer: 2 minutes, 10 seconds)

"Bullying is behaviour that hurts someone else in any way and this includes name calling, physically hurting someone, spreading rumours, threatening or undermining someone. Bullying is often associated with children but in reality, it can happen anywhere and to anyone. At school, at home or online. It’s usually repeated over a long period of time and can be physical or emotional." - CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Bullying can happen anywhere and at any time. And you might be surprised to hear, but statistics suggest that most people get bullied at some point in their life. This is because bullying can happen anywhere: at home, work, school, sports club or college. Commonly associated with the word banter, bullying can be passed off as something that doesn't matter or something that will pass over. However, it is significantly affecting your own mental health and/or physical wellbeing, it is not okay.

We recommend talking to a someone you trust that can help with the situation, including your connector. However, if you feel uncomfortable doing that, you can also talk to the helpline below.
