(Read time: 1 minute, 28 seconds)

Did you know if you are a Care Experienced parent, you are entitled to an eligible 2’s placement for Early Learning and Childcare of 1140 hours! The type of early learning and childcare providers you can use these hours at include Day nurseries and nursery schools, Nursery classes in primary and independent schools, Playgroups, Childminders, Child and family and community childcare centres.

You are able to use a maximum of 30 hours per week, which is 38 weeks over a year.  The places are not means tested and the child does not need to have any social work involvement.

So, when should you apply? Well, this depends on your child’s birthday and your local authority. Some local authorities only accept during certain times of the year. Have you missed the deadline? That does not matter, you are still entitled to the hours, it’s just you may not get your preferred setting.  There have been some teething problems in local authorities rolling out this entitlement, if you have any difficulties we recommend contacting The Village @thevillagescotland on social media.  The Village is a digital community where the team members have had a lot of successful experience supporting people to get theri eligible two's entitlement.
