Essential Documents: Change of Address

What is a copy of my address?

A copy of your address is any official document with your current address on it, usually in the top right corner. For example, when you receive your broadband bill through the post, the address of where you currently live will be on it. If you have a driving license (provisional or full), your address will be on this also!

Hang on a minute… Why is it useful to always have a copy of my address?

If you are offered a job or asked to fill out a PVG form, you need to show proof of where you live. Most jobs want a document less than 3 months old to help prove you are who you say you are. Near the top of your letter is the date it was sent. If your letter is older than 3 months, it won’t be accepted but don’t worry, there are other ways to verify your address! For example, you can log into an online account then download and/or print a recent phone bill or bank statement. If you need help with this, talk to your connector or comment below and we will get back to you.
