The Why Not? Trust for Care Experienced Young People is a charity set up to support long term connections and relationships between young people with care experience and the people who matter to them, particularly during their transition out of care.
Our vision is to support every care leaver across Scotland with continuing relationships and a sense of community that will benefit them for the long term and support their wellbeing. To help achieve our vision we are creating a digital hub: a virtual safe place for young people to come be themselves, be with liked minded peers and be part of an online community network.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive forward the content creation for our new, innovative Hub. Some examples of content could be: making managing finances more interesting, how to make job searching easier or how to cook good food on a budget.
If you have strong experience of engaging with young people in the digital world, have excellent understanding of using social media to connect and are able to create fun, interesting videos, blogs and other exciting content we want to hear from you. An understanding of care experience will be valuable for this role.
Key focus of the role:
- Develop creative content to meet the needs of our community, for example blogs, vlogs, relevant information
- Transform important information into a variety of engaging and interesting mediums that will support our young people’s social interaction, learning and wellbeing
- Create strong marketing and social media campaigns
- Support with devising a launch strategy
- Help develop a content plan and a bank of additional content for the few months following launch
